01 / CONVERT / PSD → FIGMA

Open a PSD in Figma with its layers still layers.

Roundtrip rebuilds a Photoshop file as native Figma objects - and writes down everything it could not keep.

  • Groups, text, masks and shapes become editable Figma objects
  • No silent flattening - ever
  • Altered or unsupported layers are reported with a typed reason

02 / DEMO

See it work

One real PSD, converted end to end. Watch the layer tree rebuild in Figma, then see exactly what changed.

PLAYBACK ERROR · MEDIA_NOT_FOUND The demo video could not be loaded. The three steps below walk through the same conversion.
  1. STEP 01 Pick your PSD

Run Roundtrip in Figma and select a PSD file or folder.

  2. STEP 02 Convert locally

Roundtrip parses the file on your machine and rebuilds supported content as native Figma objects.

  3. STEP 03 Keep designing

Your layers land on the canvas with structure, names and editable content preserved wherever possible.

03 / GUARANTEE

Nothing changes without being written down.

If something cannot cross the format boundary intact, it appears in the report with a typed reason instead of being silently changed.

  • Predictable conversion, release after release
  • Explicit fallbacks, named in the report
  • No hidden flattening

04 / SECURITY

Your files never leave your machine.

Conversion happens locally, inside the plugin. Nothing is uploaded, queued or stored on a server - and no part of Roundtrip is built on AI.

Processed locally

Files are read and written on your own computer. They never land on a server and are never sent anywhere.

Two network calls only

An internet connection is needed for Figma itself and to verify your licence. Nothing else goes out.

No AI, anywhere

Roundtrip is deterministic code - no model, no training on your files, no generated guesses about your layers.

05 / FAQ

Questions,
answered

Can Figma open PSD files?

Not on its own. Figma has no native PSD import - a plugin has to parse the file and rebuild it. Roundtrip does that inside Figma and reports anything it cannot reproduce.

Does Roundtrip preserve Photoshop layers?

Yes, wherever Figma has an equivalent object. Groups become frames and groups, and layer names and stacking order are kept.

Are text layers still editable in Figma?

Yes. Text layers convert to Figma text with font, size, tracking and leading. Fonts missing from your Figma account are listed in the report.

What happens to Smart Objects?

They are rasterised at document resolution and kept as a single layer, with a NOTE · RASTERISED entry in the report.

What happens to unsupported Photoshop effects?

Effects with a Figma equivalent are mapped and noted. Anything without one - adjustment layers, for example - is left out and named in the report rather than approximated silently.

Does Roundtrip upload my PSD anywhere?

No. Parsing and conversion run locally in the plugin. Licence activation is the only network call.

Can I convert large PSD files?

Yes. Large documents take longer and are converted in stages; conversion runs on your machine, so file size is bound by available memory rather than an upload limit.
